The Receiver must be placed at least one full floor above Foundation level (a single Pillar's height) and all three Antennas must be placed on the same floor as the Receiver, or one half level above or below. There are a number of requirements that must be met before the Receiver may be used for tracking nearby locations. It is not related to the direction the raft is moving.īefore signals can be received, the Receiver must be placed on the raft. In other words, the direction the player is looking when standing in front of the Receiver is the top position of the Receiver display. The top of the Receiver display is relative to its orientation on the raft. The Receiver has a scanning radius of 1250 meters for green dots, but the dot will only show up within the visible radius of 1000 meters. Blue dots are also always shown, regardless of the distance between the raft. Green dots are Islands, while blue dots are quest related and require a 4-digit code to be shown. When turned on, the Receiver will show nearby points of interests in the form of green and blue dots. One battery charge is used every ten seconds, so a full Battery (of 50 charges) is depleted in 500 seconds, i.e.

Turning on the Receiver requires a Battery, which is continuously depleted as long as the Receiver remains switched on. After crafting and placing the Receiver, the player must also research, craft and place three Antennas. Researched with the Blueprint: Receiver at the Research Table.
